Notes For the

End of Time

Anxiety & Worry

"Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything; tell God your needs and don't forget to thank Him for His answers.

If you do this, you will experience God's peace, which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand.

His peace will keep your thoughts and your hearts quiet and at rest as you trust in Christ Jesus."

From the Apostle Paul's letter to the Philippians 4:6,7.

 The Living Bible

Distress

In the Roman Catholic Communion Rite, this prayer is prayed:

"Deliver us Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distressas we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ."

The word distress in the Latin version can also be translated as anxiety, confusion, disorder, and disquiet. Any way I pray it, it brings a measure of comfort.

Fear

"God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind."

The Apostle Paul's second letter to Timothy 1:7.

Disturbing Changes in Society

From 2Timothy Chapter 3:1-5

In the last days. . . people will be:

self-centered, greedy, boastful, arrogant, rude, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, irreligious, heartless, stubborn, slanderers, wasteful, immoral, savages, enemies of good, treacherous, reckless, demented by pride, preferring their own pleasure instead of God. They will keep the outward appearance of religion, but they will deny its power.

St. Timothy says keep away from such people.

Jesus warns: "take heed that no one leads you astray.

For many will come in my name saying, 'I am the Christ,'

and they will lead many astray."

--Gospel of Matthew 24:4

"...the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching,

but having itching ears, they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their

own likings and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander into myths."

--2Timothy 4:3,4.

      The Spirit of Antichrist

"My dear friends, not every spirit is to be trusted, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God,

for many false prophets are at large in the world.

This is proof of the spirit of God: any spirit which acknowledges Jesus Christ, come in human nature, is from God,

and no spirit which fails to acknowledge Jesus is from God, it is the spirit of Antichrist...."

--1John 4:1-3

"...I want you to understand that no one speaking by the Spirit of God ever says 'Jesus be cursed!' and no one can say 'Jesus is Lord' except by the Holy Spirit."  --1Corinthians 12:3
